The Collaborative Food Project
The Collaborative Food project is an initiative to share international collaborative food projects as well as resources that support community building through food. My goal is to encourage change around local food relationships by looking at global inspirational projects.
The Collaborative Food Project began after realizing how many efforts are popping up to build more meaningful connections to food. I thought: wouldn’t it be great to make the knowledge that was born from those efforts more accessible while also putting changemakers in contact with one another. The interesting thing about food is that it has the potential to create relationships with nature, with specific places, and with other humans and non-humans. I am currently working on several projects curating and connecting information and people through food.
This website is an attempt to curate and disseminate inspiring projects and helpful knowledge about how anyone can start a food project to change their community. I intend to regularly post interesting food projects on topics ranging from starting a community garden to becoming more connected to local farmers to solutions for food waste to seed collecting. I also am building a resources page where you can find tools for finding projects and people near you. The intention is to show exemplary projects to inspire others to create change through collaborative food projects of their own
